Learning Basic Multiplication

There are many different ways to teach the basic multiplication facts and teachers/parents have their favorite ways to do it.  It is important to use manipulative tools, such as Usborne Learning Wrap-ups, division flashcards,  or make your own using everything from food to school supplies. It is also important to teach the student their division/multiplication fact families. 2 x 3 = 6,   3 x 2 = 6,   6 ÷ 3 =2,   6 ÷ 2 = 3

For adults:  Download flashcards and go through them.  Pull the ones that you don't know and review them everyday.  As you review, pull the ones you know well and put them into the "know" group.

For children:  Try a fun activity.  Grab a small bag of m & m's.  Separate the colors and count to see how many of each you have.  It's fun and the kids love to eat the results!
